Traditional T'ai Chi and Qi Gong Classes https://choosewelltoday.com/traditional-t-ai-chi
TEACHER: Cate Morrill, Director of Rising Phoenix T'ai Chi This is a traditional class of what is known as T'ai Chi 24, a Yang-based style that is the official sport T'ai Chi set. Traditional T'ai Chi and Qi Gong classes are for folks who are comfortable walking gently, softly, slowly, for an hour or so, with a 5 minute break at the middle of the hour. These are for students who are seeking benefits such as strength, flexibility, balance, mental clarity, improved stamina, cardiovascular benefit, brain building, and more. Though chairs are available for specific qi gong balance work, or for a short rest at any time, most of this class is performed standing and walking. Students practice at their own level of ability---small, medium, or large frame postures are demonstrated for each students comfort.
*******We are adding this NEW, IN PERSON, traditional T'ai Chi class for beginners, starting on SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 at 1:30PM! OR
If you would like to share a bit more information so that we may suggest the best class for you, feel free to share a bit about yourself, your goals, and your interests. All information is confidential!
For example:
Here are a few questions that will help us help you achieve your goals. Your response is not mandatory. Please provide as much information as you wish!
- Do you have particular desires or benefits you hope to receive from the classes? If so, we can certainly point out specific moves or concepts to help with your goals! For example, are you seeking physical strength, flexibility, stamina, help sleeping, etc, or are you interested in clearing stress, brain fog, or learning to stretch in easy, gentle ways, build energy, work on balance of mind, body, and spirit, or all of these?
- How would you rate your physical abilities, standing and walking balance, and stamina at this time---for example, would you like a class that uses seated work for part of it, or are you able to take an hour long walk without any problems? Are you having any balance issues, or have you had a fall recently?
- It is helpful for us to know if there are any restrictions or concerns regarding exercise for you, as some classes will have gentler movements, and can adjust movements to accommodate most issues. For example, do you have limited mobility in one arm, or have you had back vertebral fusion, or a medical device port, or such? Please let us know if you think you would like some accommodation!
- Do you have any previous TC or QG training? It is NOT necessary at all to have any background, but if you do, we'd love to hear about it! Where, when, and with whom, and the name of the form or number of steps will help us identify your previous training, and help us guide you to the best class compliment.
- Please share any other information that you would think a movement / health practitioner would use to help you attain your desired goals.
Please feel free to also send any comments or questions!
We will review your information and make suggestions as to which class or classes we think may be a good fit for you.
You can still sign up for the FREE Introductory classes, one or both by email.
We look forward to hearing back from you!
